Anduril Industries, a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities, seeks an Environmental Safety and Health (EHS) Manager for its Maritime Division. This strategic role embeds safety and risk management into the earliest stages of program development and ongoing divisional execution.
You will serve as the primary EHS liaison between the Maritime Division and the broader EHS organization, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the program lifecycle. Key responsibilities include participating in concept development, proposal activities, and preliminary design reviews to identify and mitigate EHS risks before design decisions are finalized. You will partner with engineering, program management, and technical leadership to develop practical mitigation strategies that eliminate or reduce hazards through design, influencing manufacturing processes, production planning, and facility layout decisions.
Beyond early-stage risk integration, you will build strong relationships with division leadership, engineering, operations, and program teams to understand priorities and emerging needs. You will communicate EHS initiatives, policies, and resources to support mission execution while representing divisional perspectives and challenges within the EHS organization to influence priorities, staffing, and processes. This includes providing insight into organic growth strategies, technology roadmaps, and new business pursuits to ensure proactive EHS engagement.
You will promote a culture of proactive risk management rather than reactive compliance, develop partnerships that position EHS as a trusted advisor, and monitor emerging technologies and regulatory developments relevant to maritime products and operations. The role requires conducting hazard analyses and risk assessments integrated with engineering and program decision-making, not purely after-the-fact compliance work.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Safety/Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline, plus progressive EHS experience in engineering, manufacturing, maritime, defense, aerospace, or other complex technical/industrial environments. You must demonstrate ability to influence multidisciplinary teams without direct authority and possess strong communication skills. Position is on-site at Quincy, MA or Quonset, RI.
