Salary: USD 97,000 - 129,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Senior Engineer to join its rapidly growing team at Arsenal 1 megafactory in Ashville, Ohio (south of Columbus). This is an onsite role responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across manufacturing, test, and R&D environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting and documenting safety inspections to identify workplace hazards and conditions
- Assisting with accident and incident investigations, analyzing root causes, and implementing preventative actions
- Serving as the primary EHS interface and liaison with employees, managers, customers, auditors, and regulators
- Managing hazardous waste handling, labeling, and storage in compliance with 40 CFR Parts 260-279
- Collaborating across departments to guide, teach, and influence safe workplace behaviors
- Ensuring compliance with safety programs including hazard communication, fall protection, respiratory protection, LOTO, machine guarding, electrical safety, emergency response, and chemical management
- Overseeing occupational safety, chemical management, incident management, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, stormwater management, and air emissions programs
Required qualifications include 2-3 years of experience implementing and overseeing EHS programs, expertise in 29 CFR 1910 General Industry and hazardous waste management regulations, strong communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, and U.S. Person status for access to export-controlled sites.
Preferred candidates are well-rounded EHS professionals comfortable operating as the sole EHS person on site, with manufacturing and full-rate production facility experience. The ideal candidate is high-energy, enjoys building systems rather than just managing them, challenges the status quo to improve EHS management, and approaches challenges proactively.
