Kraken, one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions, is seeking an Engineering Operations Specialist to join the Consumer group's operational team. This role is the operational engine supporting engineering teams, focused on building automations, tracking systems, and metrics that keep teams aligned and informed so engineers can focus on building products.
You will own processes and tooling that remove friction from engineering workflows, using AI and automation to solve real problems for the teams you support. Key responsibilities include administering Jira and Confluence (configuration, workflows, permissions, automations), owning the triage and intake process to ensure work reaches engineering properly routed and to standard, maintaining healthy roadmaps and running weekly delivery reporting to leadership, and ensuring the quality of engineering metrics data including team definitions, ownership records, and tool configuration.
The role requires systematic thinking to understand how processes and systems connect and where changes have downstream effects. You'll translate vague requests from senior stakeholders into scoped work and confidently decline requests when appropriate. Strong written communication and process documentation skills are essential, along with a genuine interest in operations, internal tooling, and developer experience.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in operations, process, or tooling roles, with at least one major experience shipping something meaningful
- Hands-on Jira administration covering boards, workflows, schemas, permissions, and custom fields
- Real, deliberate use of AI in day-to-day work with understanding of when and how to apply it and building with it
- Systematic thinking to see how processes and systems connect and identify downstream impacts
- Ability to turn vague requests from senior stakeholders into scoped work and confidently decline when appropriate
- Strong written communication skills and ability to document processes clearly
- Genuine interest in operations, internal tooling, and developer experience
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and frameworks
- Exposure to engineering metrics, developer productivity data, or DORA metrics
NICE TO HAVES:
- Familiarity with crypto and experience using Kraken or similar products
- Experience building Jira automation rules or Rovo agents
- SQL and/or TypeScript and scripting language experience
- Experience building Slack workflows or integrations
- Familiarity with Slack, Jira, or GitLab APIs
- Exposure to localization, QA, or compliance processes
- Experience working in remote or distributed teams
