Bitwarden, a trusted identity security leader, is establishing an India Engineering Center of Excellence and seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the regression testing effort. This is a foundational leadership role where you will build and scale a QA team from the ground up.
You will manage, mentor, and develop a team of SDETs and QA engineers, setting test and automation strategy for regression testing across Bitwarden's diverse product portfolio (web, browser extensions, mobile, desktop, CLI, and server components). You'll own quality standards, define and track quality metrics and KPIs, and report QA health to engineering leadership. Your responsibilities include hiring and performance management, coaching engineers on automation best practices, and guiding the team's balance between manual and automated testing investments.
Key responsibilities include: leading team hiring, coaching, and career development; defining QA regression strategy and quality standards; establishing quality metrics and KPIs; partnering with other QA managers on testing requirements; overseeing defect tracking and resolution; integrating QA into CI/CD pipelines with DevOps; and driving adoption of modern tooling and AI-assisted testing practices. You'll maintain technical credibility by staying hands-on enough to review automation approaches, coach engineers, and make sound tooling and coverage decisions.
You bring 6+ years of QA experience, including 3+ years managing or leading QA teams. You have demonstrated expertise in QA strategy, process ownership, and technical depth across manual and automated testing (C#, Selenium, Appium). You're fluent with metrics and stakeholder management, experienced with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), and have hands-on familiarity with AI tooling for testing workflows (Claude preferred). Ideally, you've led AI adoption or automation transformations, built QA processes from lower-maturity starting points, and have experience in SaaS, security, identity, or developer-facing products.
This role offers the opportunity to shape a new engineering center, work with a global team on meaningful security challenges, and contribute to products used by millions worldwide.
