As Engineering Manager for the Data Platform team, you will own team health, individual growth, and delivery while shaping the data product strategy. The Data Platform team sets the technical direction for how Epidemic Sound works with data, enabling other teams to work independently with modern data infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
- Own team health, individual growth, and delivery for the Data Platform team
- Align the platform's roadmap with broader engineering and data strategy
- Stay hands-on, contributing directly to the team's day-to-day work
- Partner closely with engineering and product leaders company-wide to align platform direction with their needs
- Manage relationships with third-party suppliers supporting the data platform
- Experiment with new tooling and processes in the age of AI agents
This is a hybrid role based at Stockholm HQ, with the expectation that you'll spend the majority of your time in the office with the team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A few years of experience as an Engineering Manager, with the ability to turn ambiguous, high-level plans into tangible, actionable work
- Proven experience building and maintaining data platforms
- Willingness to work hands-on as an individual contributor when needed
- Independent mindset paired with strong communication skills, able to bridge technical conversations with engineers and engage effectively with cross-domain and external stakeholders
- Experience with BigQuery, GCS, Airflow (Cloud Composer), Pub/Sub, and Snowplow
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Experience with data modeling (dbt)
