You will lead a core platform engineering team responsible for the full-stack user experience—from the frontend application and user interface to the backend business logic running inspections. This team owns everything customers see and touch: how operators set up inspections, how quality engineers read results, and how interfaces work reliably in 24/7 mission-critical manufacturing environments. You will work alongside embedded engineering and AI/ML teams in Taipei, the company's product engineering hub.
Key responsibilities include: owning the technical roadmap for your layer and working with product and engineering leadership to sequence company priorities; establishing and maintaining release processes including sprint cadence, branch structure, test gates in GitHub Actions, and practices that prevent regressions from reaching customers; defining and building practices around performance and robustness (memory behavior, startup time, long-run stability, graceful degradation); engaging directly with customers to understand field issues and translate learnings into engineering priorities; and hiring, coaching, and developing your engineering team.
This is a hands-on leadership role with high visibility and significant impact on the product and engineering organization. You should have a strong technical background, comfort diving deeply into technical details and complex systems, and the ability to effectively manage engineers toward goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience leading software engineering teams (hiring, coaching, performance management) with a strong track record of shipping product-oriented software
- Deep experience in one area of the stack (React, Python, Go) and fluency in the others to review work across technologies
- Demonstrated commitment to reliability through process and practice; experience debugging failures that only appear after extended continuous runtime
- Experience building release structure and sprint cadence from scratch (not inheriting existing systems)
- Strong instincts about user interfaces and ability to assess during code review whether a screen will work for operators on a factory floor
- Genuine interest in physical AI where software output directly impacts real parts on real production lines
- Professional-level fluency in Mandarin and English

- Experience with applications and software running on edge hardware
- Experience with AI/ML pipelines
