Eucalyptus (part of Hims & Hers) is building Juniper, one of the world's largest weight-management programs combining GLP-1 medication with personalized nutrition, movement support, and clinician-led care. The company operates across 5 markets (UK, Australia, Germany, Japan, Canada) and has received selective NICE endorsement to provide services to the NHS. As Engineering Manager, you will lead an engineering team to drive fast, high-quality execution across the full customer lifecycle—from awareness and acquisition through retention, revenue, and referral. You'll operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and growth marketing, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to translate strategic visions into scalable engineering solutions. Key responsibilities include: - Managing an engineering team to ensure fast, reliable software delivery - Acting as an escalation point for complex technical and operational issues - Balancing priorities and optimizing team workload to maintain predictable delivery without burnout - Owning execution of data-driven experiments and growth initiatives across the patient journey - Continuously refining development processes, workflows, and team structures - Recruiting, onboarding, and retaining world-class engineers while fostering psychological safety and high morale - Partnering seamlessly with Product, Marketing, and Data teams to align technical delivery with commercial goals The tech stack includes React, React Native, TypeScript, Go microservices, GraphQL, Kubernetes, and GCP. The role is hybrid (3 days per week in the Old Street office in London) with flexibility to work from anywhere 3 weeks per year. Requirements: - Proven track record managing an engineering team to ensure fast and high-quality execution - Technical strength with ability to evaluate system architecture and spot weak technical estimates; comfortable getting on the tools with React, React Native, TypeScript, Go microservices, GraphQL, Kubernetes, and GCP - Demonstrated capability in solving escalated issues, optimizing team workloads, and driving continuous improvements - Hands-on background or strong familiarity with rapid experimentation, A/B testing, and building software optimized for user engagement, conversion, and retention - Skilled at mentoring engineers, navigating shifting priorities, and nurturing an inclusive, highly motivated team culture - Exceptional communication skills with history of bridging technical delivery with product strategy, growth marketing, and commercial outcomes Nice to have: - Experience in regulated sectors (healthtech, fintech, gaming) with ability to find creative paths forward within compliance constraints
