Salary: USD 102,000 - 120,000 / annual
Mainspring Energy manufactures fuel-flexible, low-emissions local power solutions, including their Linear Generator technology for Fortune 500 companies, data centers, and utilities. The Embedded Systems Lab Manager will maintain and expand state-of-the-art embedded systems labs critical to developing and testing the company's cutting-edge power generation technology.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with software and embedded engineers to design and build hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test fixtures incorporating Linux computers, microcontrollers, motors, valves, relays, and sensors. You will remotely administer Linux systems, troubleshoot hardware and networking issues, and implement procedures for asset tracking and equipment maintenance. The role requires building scalable physical infrastructure applying IT best practices around power continuity and rack standardization, while serving as the onsite point of contact for lab operations.
Required qualifications include hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and debugging Linux-based networked devices with knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, and serial interfaces. You must have excellent cross-functional communication skills, strong attention to detail, working knowledge of low-voltage power distribution and circuit fundamentals, and a bachelor's degree in engineering or information technology plus two years of work experience.
Desirable skills include sysadmin or help desk experience at scale, shop/lab experience, automation using Python/Bash/C++, asset management, familiarity with high voltage and power electronics, experience with test tools (Jira, Xray, Git), hardware-in-the-loop embedded systems development, and CI/CD pipeline building.
