Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to develop and test cutting-edge electronics for avionics propulsion systems. You will apply expertise in propulsion flight controllers, power electronics, high-efficiency motor controllers, and electromagnetic actuators.
You will be responsible for the full electrical design lifecycle—from concept through production—including rigorous analysis, testing, and integration of propulsion-subsystem electronics. Key responsibilities include:
• Full-cycle PCB design: translate system-level propulsion requirements into robust designs using schematic capture and high-density PCB layouts (Altium preferred), component selection, bring-up, test, debug, and integration.
• Engine system electronics: design and optimize flight controller circuits, power distribution/supplies, motor controller circuits, and electromagnetic actuator circuits.
• Rigorous analysis: conduct circuit simulations, worst-case analysis, thermal analysis, DFMEA, and component derating to ensure reliability under extreme vibration and temperature environments.
• Comprehensive testing: lead board bring-ups, Design Verification Testing (DVT), qualification testing, and functional testing.
• Collaborative design: provide electrical support and work closely with mechanical, thermal, software, test, quality, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams.
• Peer reviews and root cause analysis: conduct cross-discipline design reviews and perform failure analysis in support of engine test and field operations.
You will also manage key vendor relationships and ensure performance, thermal management, and reliability in cutting-edge propulsion technologies.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Robotics, with 0–7+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs. Recent graduates welcome if they bring technical internship or standout leadership experience from engineering clubs (FSAE/EV, UAVs, robotics, avionics, or similar).
• Solid engineering fundamentals across Analog, Digital, and Power Electronics.
• Deep proficiency with Altium Designer (or equivalent) for schematic and layout, and LTSpice (or equivalent) for circuit simulation.
• Competence with laboratory test equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, spectrum analyzers, function generators, DMMs, electronic loads, power supplies, and test automation.
• Familiarity with standard interfaces (CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet) and common MCU/CPU architectures.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
PREFERRED:
• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for data analysis, control loop modeling, or system simulations.
