Lithios is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer to support the development and execution of capital projects featuring Advanced Lithium Extraction (ALE) technology. This role bridges electrical power systems and industrial controls, requiring deep technical expertise across both domains.
You will lead electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering activities from concept through design, construction, commissioning, and startup. Key responsibilities include developing and reviewing electrical and I&C design criteria, equipment specifications, drawings, and calculations; providing technical oversight of industrial power systems including AC/DC power distribution, rectifiers, and motor controllers; reviewing instrumentation and control systems design including PLC/DCS systems and networks; and serving as a key technical interface to EPC contractors and vendors.
You will coordinate across process, mechanical, civil, and other engineering disciplines to ensure proper system integration. This includes participating in P&ID reviews, electrical studies, control philosophy development, HAZOPs, design reviews, FATs, commissioning, and startup activities. You will support development of control narratives, I/O lists, instrument indexes, and electrical single-line diagrams. A critical part of the role is identifying technical issues, design gaps, and interfaces between systems, then driving them to resolution. You will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to other project team members.
The ideal candidate bridges electrical power and industrial controls, understanding how power systems, instrumentation, controls, and process equipment interact. You may have started in electrical engineering and developed substantial I&C experience, or come from controls/instrumentation with strong industrial power systems background. You are comfortable reviewing engineering work critically, challenging assumptions, and identifying integration issues. Experience with direct lithium extraction (DLE) or lithium processing is valuable but not required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of electrical, controls, instrumentation, or related engineering experience with complex industrial or process facilities
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related engineering discipline
- Experience with industrial power systems, especially DC power systems, rectifiers, power supplies, or high-power electrical equipment
- Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation and controls, including PLC/DCS systems, field instrumentation, I/O, and industrial communications
- Experience reviewing electrical and I&C documentation
- Strong technical communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work across process, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines
- Ability to manage complexity and drive technical issues to resolution
- Experience working with contractors and/or engineering consultants (preferred)
