Nox Metals is a technology-enabled metal supplier serving American factories. The company uses software and automation to deliver metal faster than traditional industry practices.
In this role, you will design and implement a comprehensive EHS program from the ground up, with support from People Operations as needed. You will train shift leads to run the program independently and lead both new-hire and refresher training sessions. Your responsibilities include conducting hazard assessments and incident investigations through closure, managing OSHA/MIOSHA recordkeeping and permits, and maintaining the site in audit-ready condition.
You will oversee PPE, machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and forklift and crane safety. You will also collaborate with operations and software teams to implement engineering controls when safety issues stem from process or equipment design.
This is a full-time, in-person role based in Ferndale, MI, with Monday–Friday core hours and occasional weekend availability as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in EHS, Occupational Health & Safety, Health and Human Services, or related field
- 7+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial settings
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing EHS programs (not just maintaining them)
- Ability to work on the floor, communicate effectively with operators, and document findings in a way that holds up under scrutiny
- Ability to enforce safety standards firmly with shift leads and other personnel
NICE TO HAVE:
- Metals or CNC manufacturing background
- Experience with ITAR-controlled materials
- OSHA 30, CSP, or equivalent certification
- Comfort using AI tools to work faster and smarter
