Salary: USD 120,000 - 160,000 / annual

Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize American manufacturing, combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing to help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost. The company recently raised $1.37B in Series D funding at a $7.87B valuation and is rapidly expanding its manufacturing footprint. As an EHS Engineer, you will serve as the primary safety partner to construction, operations, and factory development teams at Hadrian's new 2.25 million square foot manufacturing facility (Factory 4). This role is central to building safe, scalable processes around novel and emerging manufacturing technologies, including advanced welding, additive manufacturing, casting, forging, and general fabrication. Key responsibilities include: - Develop and implement engineering controls, administrative procedures, and PPE programs tailored to specific hazard profiles - Partner with engineers and technicians to integrate safety by design into new process development and equipment commissioning - Lead incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action for safety incidents - Author and maintain safety procedures, SOPs, and risk assessments for Factory 4 operations - Conduct and document hazard assessments (Haz-ops, JHAs, RAs) for new equipment and processes prior to operation - Support and deliver safety training on process-specific hazards and controls - Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, California, and local regulatory requirements - Serve as technical resource for regulatory inspections and agency interactions You should have 5-10 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments, with working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory requirements. Technical knowledge of hazards associated with welding (MIG, TIG, laser), metal additive manufacturing, casting, forging, and fabrication processes is essential. Strong communication skills and ability to assess risk in ambiguous, fast-moving environments are critical. Preferred qualifications include professional certifications (CSP, CIH), bachelor's degree in EHS or Engineering, experience in high-tech manufacturing with automation and robotics, laser safety program experience, and familiarity with metal powder handling and additive manufacturing post-processing hazards.
