Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Director of Supply Chain to build and lead the supply chain function at Arsenal-1, their flagship manufacturing facility in the Columbus, Ohio area. Reporting to the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations, you will own the complete supply chain strategy and execution from the ground up. You will define the charter and scope of the Arsenal-1 supply chain function, determining what the site owns versus what the broader Supply Chain team owns, and establishing governance for overlaps. You'll build an integrated phased plan for standing up the function, working backward from production start dates and rate increases to define required readiness across people, processes, systems, supplier qualification, and inventory positioning. Key responsibilities include owning the risk register, dependency map, and critical path with formal readiness and gate reviews. You'll write the operating model covering planning cadences, material calls, shortage escalation, receiving and inspection flows, kitting, line-feed, cycle counting, change control, and decision rights. You'll also own capital, tooling, and infrastructure requests that supply chain depends on, sequenced against facility construction. On the material and supplier side, you'll drive supplier readiness with Sourcing, Product Sourcing Engineering, and Supplier Quality teams, ensuring qualification, capacity reservation, tooling, and dual-source coverage are completed ahead of need dates. You'll own the readiness sequence for manufacturing BOM release, including risk assessment and alternate component strategies for constrained and long-lead parts. You'll define and drive key metrics—clear-to-build, material availability, schedule attainment, supplier on-time delivery, and inventory accuracy—holding the team to root-cause analysis rather than expediting around problems. As the senior supply chain voice at the site, you'll own executive relationships across Sourcing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, and Deployment Ops, translating material shortages, capacity limits, and supplier risk into clear recommendations for leadership. You'll convert the startup standup effort into a durable operating function, replacing one-off heroics and manual workarounds with standard cadences, documented processes, and clear decision rights. You'll build and scale the team as headcount ramps, hiring and developing planners, buyers, and material leaders while designing the org structure for growth. You'll mature the systems backbone—standing up and stabilizing ERP/MRP and planning tooling as volume and product mix grow—and institutionalize continuous improvement through metrics, reviews, and root-cause discipline that shift the team from firefighting to steady-state execution.
