AEVEX is seeking a Director of Supply Chain Management to lead strategic procurement operations and drive supply chain excellence across the organization. This is an in-office role based in Tampa, Florida, with 25% required travel.
The Director of Supply Chain Management will own strategic leadership, governance, and operational performance of the entire procurement organization, including Strategic Sourcing, Purchasing, and Subcontract Administration. You will develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with corporate growth, ensure compliance with government contracting requirements (FAR, DFARS, CPSR, ITAR, EAR, CAS), and strengthen supplier partnerships to scale capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and execute supply chain strategy supporting organizational growth, customer commitments, and business goals
• Build and scale the procurement organization through workforce planning, process development, training, and succession planning
• Establish procurement governance, policies, procedures, and controls ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives focused on supplier diversification, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and supply assurance
• Develop category management strategies for key commodities, materials, services, and subcontracted capabilities
• Expand and strengthen the supplier base to support business growth, production scalability, and new product development
• Establish strategic supplier partnerships through long-term agreements, supplier development programs, and executive relationship management
• Lead high-value commercial negotiations for supplier agreements, master service agreements, and subcontract awards
• Develop supplier segmentation and performance management frameworks evaluating cost, quality, delivery, capacity, innovation, and risk
• Direct procurement participation in proposal development, capture activities, and program planning
• Oversee subcontract administration including source selection, negotiations, and contractual compliance
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CPSR, TINA, CAS, ITAR, EAR, and government property requirements
• Serve as executive sponsor for Contractor Purchasing System Reviews and compliance initiatives
• Develop procurement metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems measuring organizational effectiveness and business outcomes
• Lead supply chain risk management including supplier financial health monitoring and business continuity planning
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, ERP/MRP systems, automation, and analytics
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Contracts, Finance, and Executive Leadership
• Represent the organization in executive reviews, customer engagements, supplier business reviews, and audits
This role requires deep expertise in government contracting, procurement compliance, supplier management, and supply chain strategy. You will be a key business partner to executive leadership and drive organizational excellence through process maturity and strategic initiatives.
