Seyna is a European insurtech founded in 2019 that provides insurance brokers with cutting-edge technology and services to design, sell, and manage custom insurance products. Operating across 6 European countries and protecting nearly 2 million policyholders, Seyna has secured €57M in funding from GFC, WhiteStar Capital, Elaia, and 115K (La Banque Postale). As Director of Risk Management, you will lead Seyna's entire risk management framework, balancing regulatory compliance with business growth. You will report to the CFRO and oversee a team managing regulatory requirements (Solvency II, ACPR), internal controls, and enterprise risk governance. Key Responsibilities: - Design and operate the risk control system; produce regular, clear reporting to executive committee, audit committee, and board of directors - Develop and maintain risk management policies, risk mapping, and assess the impact and application of risk mitigation measures - Own the Key Function for Risk & Internal Controls; lead internal control oversight with a team member; deliver monthly results and internal control reports - Manage Solvency II and ORSA production: calculate solvency ratios, produce QRT filings, and maintain ORSA documentation - Serve as primary contact with ACPR (French insurance regulator); ensure all regulatory commitments are met (note: an inspection is currently underway) - Chair the qualification board and Risk Committee; participate in broker monitoring committees alongside the Director of Client Performance - Foster risk culture across Revenue and Client Performance teams; embed risk awareness company-wide without impeding business velocity You will work in a high-stakes regulatory environment where the board and regulator closely monitor risk management. The role requires balancing prudent risk controls with entrepreneurial growth mindset. Requirements: - Proven ability to design and execute risk management frameworks that balance growth with risk control - Expert-level knowledge of Solvency II regulations and ACPR reporting requirements; ideally with recent regulatory inspection or compliance experience - Strong actuarial skills; ability to challenge provisioning studies, pricing analyses, and FP&A models - Mastery of internal control frameworks and methodologies (Level 1 and Level 2 controls) - Excellent communication skills across diverse audiences (CEO, board, regulators); ability to tailor messaging to each stakeholder - Strong cross-functional leadership; ability to engage the entire organization without creating perception of risk as a constraint - Business-partner mindset with solution orientation; avoids excessive risk aversion - Bonus: familiarity with customer acquisition dynamics and business metrics to engage effectively with commercial teams
