Ascent Developer Solutions is a leading private lending platform serving real estate developers nationwide. The Director of Relationship Management leads the Relationship Management function and is responsible for overall performance, strategy, and execution of the team throughout the loan lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Department Leadership: Lead, mentor, develop, and evaluate a high-performing team of Relationship Managers. Establish departmental goals, KPIs, service standards, and best practices that drive borrower satisfaction, loan execution, and operational efficiency. Recruit, onboard, train, and develop talent to build technical expertise in assessing borrowers, structuring loans across multiple asset classes, and communicating with sophisticated borrowers. Allocate resources, balance workloads, and oversee team performance to ensure consistent execution across the borrower portfolio and loan pipeline. Use analytical reporting to inform decisions regarding staffing and workflow improvements. Standardize borrower approval, onboarding, transaction review, and pipeline management workflows. Establish clear ownership, escalation paths, and communication standards for cross-functional resolution. Identify process, automation, and technology enhancements that improve speed, accuracy, visibility, and scalability. Develop and maintain department-wide policies, procedures, controls, and training standards. Act as executive representative and change agent for the Relationship Management function.
Relationship Management Oversight: Serve as functional leader ensuring Relationship Managers consistently execute loan assessment and structuring, analyze borrower approval documentation, manage pipelines, collaborate across departments, and deliver exceptional service.
The role works closely with Loan Officers, Credit, Underwriting, Construction Risk, Operations, Valuations, Servicing, Legal, and Executive Leadership. The Director is recognized as a trusted leader who builds organizational capability in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and possesses expert-level mastery of all Relationship Manager responsibilities.
