Scopely is seeking a Director of Quality Assurance to lead QA strategy and execution for a major free-to-play adventure game launching on mobile and PC. This is a strategic and operational leadership role with significant technical depth, based in Culver City with remote flexibility across the US and Canada.
You will own the complete QA vision and roadmap, defining quality standards and metrics that ensure a consistently high-quality player experience across multiple platforms and regions. You'll drive adoption of modern test automation frameworks and tooling to support rapid development cycles while maintaining quality at scale. This includes designing and implementing automated testing strategies that embed quality throughout the development lifecycle rather than relying on end-stage testing alone.
As a people leader, you will build and develop a high-performing QA organization across multiple initiatives and locations. You'll establish hiring strategies, manage resourcing aligned with project growth, and create a culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation within the QA discipline. You'll mentor and develop team members, identifying capability gaps and building future-ready talent pipelines.
You'll partner closely with senior leadership, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to champion quality throughout the organization. This includes influencing product decisions, identifying quality risks, and ensuring QA strategy evolves alongside the project. You'll develop deep understanding of the game's IP, core gameplay systems, and player experience to effectively guide quality efforts.
Required experience includes significant leadership of QA in game development at a senior level, strong technical expertise in test automation across multiple development phases, and proven ability to design and scale automation frameworks. You should have experience supporting complex multi-platform products (ideally PC and mobile), exceptional people management skills, and comfort operating in fast-moving agile environments with strict deadlines. Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are essential.
