ShipBob is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead and develop the company's strategic sourcing and procurement function across multiple categories. This is a senior leadership role responsible for building a high-performing procurement capability, driving meaningful cost improvements, and ensuring supplier relationships, contract frameworks, and category strategies align with ShipBob's rapid growth trajectory.
The Director will bring deep commercial judgment, strong negotiation capability, and the ability to manage complexity across multiple categories simultaneously. Given the current team size, this is a hands-on role requiring flexibility to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, adapting to changing business priorities as the organization evolves.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing category strategies, managing supplier relationships and contract negotiations, identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives, building and mentoring the procurement team (managing the Procurement Manager), and collaborating cross-functionally with finance, operations, and business leadership to support ShipBob's growth objectives.
The ideal candidate will have extensive procurement and sourcing experience, demonstrated success in cost reduction and supplier management, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This role reports to the VP Global Controller and is based remotely within the United States (available in 36 states including CA, NY, TX, IL, and others).
