Pie Insurance is seeking a Director of Premium Audit to lead the transformation and strategic direction of the Premium Audit department. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing departmental operations, team management, and organizational change within a commercial insurance technology company. You will serve as the premium audit subject matter expert and strategic leader, driving departmental transformation and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include: Strategic Leadership & Transformation: Direct implementation of the new Premium Audit Playbook, transitioning the department to a reimagined structure with professional-level roles. Develop comprehensive premium audit strategies aligned with Pie's business objectives and contribute to broader organizational strategic planning. Partner with cross-functional leaders across Underwriting, Product, Technology, and Business Development to integrate premium audit strategy with business initiatives. Serve as an authority on premium audit best practices, staying current with industry trends and regulatory changes. Lead change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of new processes, technologies, and operating models. Department Leadership & Management: Direct premium audit operations through a multi-level management structure including Senior Managers, Managers, Team Leads, and individual contributors. Establish and monitor department-wide KPIs and quality standards for audit accuracy, customer satisfaction, collection rates, and productivity. Design and implement departmental structure changes, role creation, and succession planning strategies. Own departmental budget planning and resource allocation, including technology investments and staffing decisions. Manage strategic relationships with external audit vendors, technology providers, and bureau partners. Operations & Process Excellence: Oversee end-to-end premium audit processes across all platforms, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality standards. Lead adoption of audit technologies and process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer experience. Ensure comprehensive quality programs and successful bureau inspections. Leverage audit data and analytics to identify trends and inform functional decisions. Leadership Development: Coach and develop Senior Managers and Managers to build departmental leadership capability and prepare successors for key roles. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
