Salary: USD 220,000 - 292,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Director of Strategic Supply Chain to lead and scale supply chain operations across the Aerospace, Defense & Space (AD&S) division. This is a people-management role overseeing two key functions: Supplier Industrialization Engineering and Strategic Sourcing.
In this Director-level position, you will manage teams of sourcing engineers and subcontract managers, serving as the central point of contact for all supply chain needs in product development. You will partner closely with engineering, product program offices, and production leadership to execute sourcing plans and drive strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and scaling the Supplier Industrialization Engineering team to drive supplier manufacturing readiness from new product introduction (NPI) through sustained production. Own the end-to-end supplier industrialization process: capability assessments, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), process capability validation, and First Article Inspection (FAI).
- Leading and scaling the Strategic Sourcing team to develop industrial strategy supporting supply chain through production and sustainment. Partner with chief engineers and program managers to ensure products are designed with supply chain capability to deliver on cost, schedule, and performance targets.
- Identifying opportunities for strategic supplier agreements and partnerships that capture cost savings, enable roadmap alignment, and strengthen the supply base. Align supplier roadmaps with AD&S portfolio vision.
- Driving optionality and competition into the supply base to ensure resilience and capacity for radical production rate increases.
- Establishing and maintaining supplier quality standards and compliance with aerospace and defense regulations.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Finance to align activities with program milestones and business objectives.
- Defining and monitoring KPIs and supplier scorecards to track industrial base health. Providing regular executive-level reporting on risks, opportunities, and performance.
- Proactively identifying and mitigating supply chain risks such as disruptions or market changes.
- Developing and implementing supply chain strategies aligned with business goals, focusing on supply continuity, quality, efficiency, cost optimization, and scalability.
You will attract, develop, and retain top talent through coaching, feedback, and accountability. Travel up to 20% is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field
- 10+ years experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment in supply chain or production-related roles focused on complex mechanical and/or electrical assembly
- At least 5+ years in a leadership position
- Strong communication skills across all organizational levels
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA or Master's degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field
- Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high tech, or related industry
- Proven leadership driving and influencing large teams toward common goals
- Strong team player who can adapt to different roles while managing a small team
