Steno is seeking a Director of Strategic Operations to lead operational excellence and scaling within its Litigation Support division. This role partners closely with the Litigation Support General Manager to shape strategic priorities, design scalable processes, and drive operational efficiency across a fast-growing, distributed team.
Key responsibilities include:
• Strategic Partnership: Work alongside the Litigation Support GM to set departmental priorities, shape roadmaps, and inform high-stakes decisions under compressed timelines and imperfect information.
• Project Ownership: Own cross-functional coordination, go-to-market operations, and process design initiatives that keep the business moving. Take on critical projects that lack clear ownership.
• Operational Improvement: Diagnose inefficiencies and execute end-to-end solutions. Identify and implement opportunities to grow Litigation Support's GMV as the department expands into new jurisdictions, clients, and service lines.
• Organizational Design: Plan and lead team transitions, org restructuring, and process rollouts in partnership with senior leadership. Manage the operating relationship with delivery teams, including service levels and escalation protocols.
• Quality & Performance: Establish quality standards, monitor performance metrics, and partner with managers to close gaps through coaching and process improvement.
• Reporting & Analytics: Own the department's reporting strategy for leadership and executive audiences, including SLA tracking, productivity metrics, error rates, case completion data, and key health indicators.
• Research & Strategy: Conduct research on strategic and operational questions; prepare board- and leadership-ready materials that translate operational detail into compelling narratives.
The ideal candidate is a strategic operator comfortable with both spreadsheets and executive presentations. You have a proven track record of turning ambiguous, high-stakes problems into clear plans and executed results. You understand litigation support workflows, court filing rules, and Service of Process regulations—or are excited to go deep on these nuances to build scalable workflows. You thrive in distributed, cross-functional environments and don't wait for others to own the gap between insight and action.
