Birdwatch is redefining the homeowner experience by combining technology, trusted relationships, and exceptional service for residential home maintenance and improvement projects. As Director of Projects, you will build and lead the company's growing Projects Division across the DMV region (Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC), with oversight expanding to Philadelphia and Annapolis markets. You will own both strategy and execution for the entire Projects Division. Key responsibilities include leading and growing the residential projects business, building and coaching a high-performing team of Project Managers and coordinators, and creating scalable systems and workflows that improve project delivery and operational standards. You'll oversee project financial performance including revenue growth, profitability, forecasting, pricing, and margins. You'll develop and strengthen relationships with contractor and vendor partners, improve project conversion through standardized consultations and estimating processes, and monitor project health across the portfolio to identify risks and drive accountability. You'll partner cross-functionally with Services, Onboarding, Member Success, Product, Operations, and Vendor Partnerships teams to create a seamless member experience. You'll establish quality standards ensuring every project reflects the Birdwatch brand and continuously improve delivery as the company scales. Success means growing project revenue while maintaining healthy margins, building systems that create visibility and predictable execution, leading a team that consistently delivers outstanding projects, creating exceptional homeowner experiences that drive trust and referrals, developing strong contractor partnerships, and using data to make smarter decisions. You bring significant experience leading residential construction, remodeling, or home improvement operations, with a track record of managing multiple projects and project managers simultaneously. You understand estimating, budgeting, forecasting, margins, and project financials. You're passionate about building systems and improving operational processes, naturally develop people through coaching and accountability, and communicate exceptionally well with homeowners, contractors, vendors, and internal teams. You thrive in fast-growing, entrepreneurial environments, use technology and data to improve visibility, and believe that delivering great customer experience is as important as delivering great projects. You report to the Chief Operating Officer.
