COBS Bread, a bakery franchise network with over 180 locations across Canada, is seeking a Director of Operations for Eastern Canada based in Toronto. This is a people-management role reporting to the Senior Director of Operations for Prairies and Eastern Canada. You will lead and develop the Area Managers team, coaching them on franchisee relationship management, operational excellence, and strategic execution. Key responsibilities include: driving regional sales growth and profitability targets; ensuring all bakeries meet COBS brand standards and compliance requirements; implementing the company's strategic plan with effective change management; analyzing financial performance (MFS) and developing action plans; coordinating team meetings and culture-building initiatives; managing day-to-day operational issues; and supporting network growth across the region. You will work cross-functionally to review business risks, forecast sales and expenses, manage campaign execution, and translate strategic concepts into actionable plans that align franchisee success with corporate goals. Required qualifications: minimum 5+ years in a senior management role; 5+ years in a similar operations or franchise management role (franchising background preferred); degree or diploma in business; strong operational understanding of retail sales and small business environments; demonstrated experience building and leading teams; excellent financial analysis and performance metrics skills; ability to drive both top-line sales and bottom-line profitability; strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and influence skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
