Taxfix is a fintech company that has helped millions of people file taxes confidently and claim refunds. Operating across Germany, Spain, and the UK with over 400 professionals, the company has facilitated more than €3.5 billion in tax refunds since 2016.
As Director of Operational Finance, you will lead the strategic advancement of Taxfix's financial infrastructure to support growth and innovation. Based in Berlin, you will report to senior leadership and work cross-functionally to optimize financial operations, enhance international compliance, and build stakeholder relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing end-to-end operational finance functions with strategic alignment to group objectives
- Managing high-impact finance projects across multiple countries
- Leading and developing a team of 10+ finance professionals, fostering excellence and accountability
- Driving cross-functional collaboration on product launches and organizational initiatives
- Serving as senior advisor to management and external partners on financial and administrative matters
- Preparing comprehensive monthly and audited annual financial statements with strict regulatory compliance
- Championing AI adoption and automation in finance workflows and tooling for productivity gains
- Managing financial risks including FX and interest rate exposure
- Overseeing IFRS reporting implementation for transparency and reliability

REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive finance and strategic project management experience, ideally 10+ years in leadership roles
- Proven success managing large-scale, multinational finance teams and projects with strategic impact
- Deep knowledge of HGB (German Commercial Code), ideally IFRS, with experience in internal control systems and global financial regulations
- Exceptional leadership capabilities with track record of managing and inspiring geographically dispersed teams
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to navigate complex financial environments
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders (auditors, banks, consultants, senior leadership)
- Exceptional project management skills delivering complex projects on scope, time, and budget
- Expertise in vendor and service provider relationship management
- Agility to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments with understanding of business drivers and industry trends
- Fluency in both German and English (required)
