7AI is seeking a hands-on Director of Information Security to lead the company's information security and information systems functions. This is a foundational role focused on building and scaling security operations from the ground up in a fast-paced environment.
You will own the full spectrum of security responsibilities: developing and enforcing security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization; implementing and managing security tools and infrastructure; monitoring systems for vulnerabilities and leading incident response efforts; and building compliance programs aligned with SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, and GDPR requirements.
Key responsibilities include conducting internal risk assessments and coordinating third-party audits; overseeing identity and access management with least-privilege principles; developing security training and awareness programs; evaluating third-party vendor and cloud service security posture; and collaborating with engineering and IT teams to embed security best practices into systems and workflows.
You will build and lead a dedicated security team, driving automation and enhancing security maturity across both product and information security domains. This role requires staying current with emerging threats and regulatory changes, and working closely with platform teams to support organizational growth.
Required: 7+ years of hands-on information security or IT security experience; familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR frameworks; strong understanding of modern cloud infrastructure and access controls; excellent communication skills translating security concepts for non-technical audiences; and team management experience in cross-functional projects. Startup or small-company experience is valued. Nice-to-have: relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer); DevSecOps or secure SDLC exposure; and security operations or incident response background.
