As Director of Fraud Strategy, you will own all fraud prevention outcomes across new account fraud, first-party fraud, and transaction fraud. This is a senior leadership role with direct accountability for fraud losses, team performance, and the strategic direction of fraud controls. You will be Imprint's default fraud expert—the internal thought partner for the fraud team and the authoritative voice on fraud strategy across the organization. In your first 90 days, you will gain full command of Imprint's fraud controls, demonstrate the ability to update fraud rules independently, identify primary blockers to delivery speed, provide evidence-backed feedback on fraud strategy for the next 6–9 months, and establish yourself as a trusted fraud authority across teams. Key responsibilities include: owning fraud loss outcomes with full accountability; leading, developing, and growing a team of three direct reports (fraud leads for new account, first-party, and transaction domains); serving as the internal expert and thought partner for fraud strategy; defining and evolving Imprint's fraud controls framework; partnering with modeling, engineering, and senior leadership on priorities and resource trade-offs; championing valuable fraud initiatives through storytelling and advocacy; navigating cross-functional communication with clarity; acting as an operational backstop in high-severity fraud scenarios; and surfacing fraud risk, strategy, and performance to executives. REQUIREMENTS: Required: - Demonstrated track record of owning fraud loss outcomes as a non-individual contributor across a major product area; minimum 3 years in a people leadership role with direct P&L or loss accountability - Deep expertise in fraud prevention with hands-on experience across multiple fraud domains (new account fraud, transaction fraud, first-party fraud) - Industry background in money movement (fintech, banking, payments, or similar) where financial fraud is core scope - Technical proficiency: able to write or read code (SQL, SAS, Python, or equivalent) - Comfortable understanding how machine learning models work and integrate into fraud decisioning - Clear and compelling communicator able to influence across teams and levels - Detail-oriented with operational depth to serve as backup in fraud incident scenarios - Skilled at navigating trade-offs and prioritizing high-impact strategic initiatives in fast-moving environments Nice to Have: - Experience with credit or debit card fraud controls - Experience with transactional controls frameworks - Background building or scaling fraud functions in high-growth or early-stage environments - Familiarity with cross-functional fraud tooling and rule management platforms
