Salary: CAD 190,000 - 255,000 / annual

As Director of Engineering, you will lead two critical engineering teams focused on agentic workflows and natural language experience (NLX)—some of the most important product experiences driving the company's growth. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will be a key member of the engineering leadership team, responsible for building and scaling a high-performing engineering organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and driving day-to-day processes that create a highly efficient, high-performing engineering team
- Developing and delivering a multi-quarter roadmap focused on operational excellence, scalability, and reliability
- Hiring, coaching, and mentoring engineers to foster a strong cross-functional organization and develop team capabilities
- Providing technical expertise and leadership throughout product lifecycles, influencing best practices and ensuring operational excellence of high-stakes services
- Collaborating with Product Managers, Data/AI engineers, Customer Success, Partnerships, and other internal teams
- Contributing to organization-wide engineering leadership to align with Quandri's guiding principles
- Providing clarity in ambiguous environments for your team, peers, and leaders

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Over 4 years of engineering team management experience
- More than 8 years of professional engineering experience
- At least 5 years of experience delivering mission-critical software
- In-depth knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations
- Proven experience partnering with product management and internal technical teams
- Proficiency in software development best practices, with a history of deploying and operating software at scale
- Experience designing and implementing databases, backends, and APIs, ensuring efficient data management and seamless system integration
