As Director of Data Products, you will lead the data platform, products, tools, and self-serve layer serving 800+ employees across the organization. You report to the VP of Data & Insight and sit on company-wide planning and governance forums. You manage 8 analytics engineers and developers within a wider ~20-person Data & Insight team.
Key responsibilities include: owning the data platform and self-serve analytics layer to reduce dependency on the data team; evaluating and directing tooling decisions; curating the semantic layer covering core business concepts and metrics; embedding governance (quality, definitions, stewardship, access) into the platform itself; driving real adoption through documentation, training, and support; managing D&I's operational planning (~50 quarterly projects); representing data perspectives in company-wide planning; establishing standards and playbooks for team workflows; tracking operational metrics (project velocity, support throughput, self-serve adoption); and leading day-to-day people management including 1:1s, development conversations, hiring, and onboarding.
You will be a force-multiplier for decision-making quality and velocity, ensuring data and AI leverage is fully realized across the business. The role requires balancing competing stakeholder needs, coordinating complex roadmaps, and fostering a high-performance team culture built on accountability and continuous improvement.
Required experience: 10+ years in data, analytics, or technical operations; 3+ years managing technical teams (analytics engineers, BI developers); demonstrated use of AI to measurably improve organizational data usage or team operations; track record of building genuinely self-serve data platforms with embedded governance in complex/scaling organizations; ownership of data team operational planning (capacity, prioritization, agile ceremonies, delivery); credibility with senior cross-functional stakeholders; genuine interest in developing people; organized, detail-minded, pragmatic approach to ambiguity.
