The Director of Beauty will lead all aspects of Pattern's go-to-market strategies with a primary focus on Amazon 1st Party (Vendor Central) marketplace management. This is a full-time hybrid role (three days in office per week) based in Lehi, Utah.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set strategic direction for end-to-end planning, forecasting, and inventory optimization across high-profile beauty brands, overseeing Associate Directors and Managers
- Own category intake strategy at portfolio level—OTB, ordering, and excess management—ensuring optimal inventory health and in-stock performance while controlling capital usage
- Translate forecast deviations into decisive action and set mitigation approaches for the wider team
- Shape segmented assortment strategy using quantitative market analysis to inform category and partner prioritization
- Own brand partner relationships at executive level, leading high-stakes discussions on Buy Strategy, Sell In/Sell Out forecasts, and Supply Chain optimization; serve as ultimate escalation point
- Set trading lever strategy (swap and return negotiations, EOL MD management, promotional planning) that the team executes to hit revenue and margin targets
- Own annual, quarterly, and weekly budget setting in partnership with Finance and Brand Growth leadership
- Lead onboarding strategy for new partners, ensuring data-led forecasting and buying strategies set brands up for long-term success
- Drive operational excellence at scale by sponsoring innovation projects and team initiatives that improve inventory productivity and margin
- Represent Beauty brands to senior leadership and executive team in Inventory Health Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Assortment Reviews
- Build, develop, and lead a team of Associate Directors and Managers, setting goals and growing talent within the Beauty organization
The role requires setting clear direction, holding teams accountable, actively driving cross-functional collaboration with Beauty, Finance, and Brand Growth teams, taking full ownership of assigned categories and partners, and maintaining detail-oriented execution while operating at a strategic level.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field
- Significant experience leading merchandising, buying, or inventory planning functions within the Beauty category
- Proven track record owning P&L-level outcomes tied to inventory, margin, and revenue
- Outstanding analytical and data management skills with ability to translate data into executive-level decisions
- Strong track record building and scaling high-performing teams
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership and executive audiences
- High ethical standards
- Management consulting experience is a plus
