Valerie Health is an AI-native platform that serves as the front office for independent provider groups, automating patient/provider communication and healthcare workflows. As Director of Agent Operations, you will build and lead the team responsible for deploying AI agents to handle complex healthcare workflows. You'll own the full lifecycle from customer discovery through production launch and continuous optimization. This role directly impacts company growth and operating leverage by shortening time-to-value, ensuring reliable production workflows, and expanding automation coverage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and leading a high-performing team through hiring, coaching, and establishing standards and processes
- Translating customer requirements into reliable AI agents through workflow discovery and scope definition
- Owning agent delivery across design, development, testing, and troubleshooting
- Expanding automation post-launch using performance data to identify improvements and reduce manual work
- Driving cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Product, Customer Strategy, and Operations
- Creating repeatable processes, tools, and practices to accelerate delivery and improve agent performance
You'll work in a fast-paced environment where you balance hands-on execution with team leadership, troubleshoot technical issues using SQL and logs, and make judgment calls on when to escalate to Engineering.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6–10+ years of experience in consulting, strategy & operations, solutions engineering, technical implementation, analytics, finance, product, or related roles
- Demonstrated experience leading teams through complex work and coaching teammates
- Proven ability to uncover customer requirements, explain technical concepts clearly, and set expectations while building trust
- Hands-on technical judgment: ability to troubleshoot workflows using code, APIs, data, SQL, and logs; ship reliable customer-specific code with AI tools; and determine when Engineering support is needed (Engineering background helpful but not required)
- Analytical rigor and ability to prioritize based on customer impact, urgency, effort, and scalability
- High-velocity execution with ability to bring structure to ambiguous work and deliver across technical and nontechnical teams
