Re:Build Manufacturing is revitalizing America's manufacturing base by operating an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform that partners with industrial companies to scale production in critical verticals including aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy, and robotics.
You will architect and drive Re:Build's automation strategy across three layers: data infrastructure, software automation, and physical robotics. This is a strategic individual contributor role responsible for identifying high-value automation opportunities, designing on-site deployment strategies, selecting and evaluating platforms and tools, building technology partner relationships, and creating repeatable playbooks across the manufacturing network.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and own the multi-site digital and automation deployment strategy across Re:Build's manufacturing sites
- Identify and prioritize specific automation projects, define problems, scope solutions, estimate ROI, and secure stakeholder commitment
- Own end-to-end project delivery from platform selection through integration, operator training, and sustained adoption
- Create documented, repeatable deployment playbooks to accelerate subsequent site deployments
- Collaborate with the AI Director to move AI applications to factory deployment
- Define production data schema and quality requirements that enable AI model training and support broader AI and analytics strategy
You bring 8+ years spanning manufacturing/industrial engineering and automation, with hands-on deployment of both digital systems (MES, IoT, digital twins, data infrastructure) and physical automation (robotics cells, machine tending, automated inspection) in discrete manufacturing. You understand manufacturing economics across high-mix/low-volume and high-rate production, have experience with robotics integration (cobots, machine tending, vision-guided systems, automated inspection), and can build trust with factory operators and site leadership. You communicate effectively at executive and shop-floor levels and are willing to travel 40–60% in the first year. Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
