Infleqtion is seeking a Director of Manufacturing and Program Development Operations to lead the development, maturation, and execution of manufacturing capabilities for optical clock quantum technologies. This hands-on leadership role bridges advanced development and scalable production, partnering with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Quantum Sensing Solutions leadership to transform complex prototypes into robust, repeatable, manufacturable systems.
Key responsibilities include leading manufacturing operations across advanced development, prototype, engineering development, qualification, and pilot-production builds. The director will establish and mature manufacturing processes capable of transitioning new technologies from laboratory environments into repeatable production, developing manufacturing strategy, operating models, staffing plans, equipment roadmaps, and required infrastructure.
The role owns execution of build schedules, manufacturing readiness, capacity planning, resource allocation, and day-to-day production priorities. The director will create scalable operating processes appropriate to both low-volume/high-complexity development builds and future production growth, establishing clear ownership, accountability, and operating cadence across manufacturing activities.
New Product Introduction responsibilities include partnering with engineering teams early in the product lifecycle to influence design for manufacturability, assembly, testability, reliability, and serviceability. The director leads manufacturing readiness reviews, establishes disciplined processes for prototype-to-production transitions including NPI gates and build readiness criteria, and drives development of repeatable assembly, integration, test, inspection, and acceptance processes.
Manufacturing Engineering and Process Development duties involve providing leadership for manufacturing engineering activities, driving process definition, documentation, characterization, and validation. The director establishes manufacturing standards, process controls, tooling strategies, and leads development of production equipment, fixtures, and manufacturing test capabilities. Lean manufacturing, structured problem solving, and statistical methods will be applied to improve quality, throughput, and predictability.
Operational Performance includes establishing and managing key manufacturing metrics (schedule performance, first-pass yield, quality, cycle time, labor efficiency, throughput, material availability, cost), building operational dashboards, driving root-cause analysis, and developing capacity and labor models. The director identifies opportunities to reduce manufacturing cost and complexity while protecting product performance and quality, creating a culture of disciplined execution and continuous improvement.
Cross-functional leadership involves close collaboration with Engineering, QSS/T&F leadership, Product Management, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Facilities to achieve program objectives. The director integrates manufacturing plans with program schedules, engineering milestones, material requirements, and customer commitments, partnering with Supply Chain on sourcing strategies and material constraint mitigation.
