Salary: USD 173,000 - 222,495 / annual

Vuori, an athletic apparel brand blending performance and casual aesthetics, seeks a Director of International Store Development to lead the company's global retail expansion. This is a people-management role overseeing Store Design Management and Construction functions as Vuori accelerates its international footprint, with China as the priority market alongside Europe and franchise partnerships globally. You will own international development strategy and execution across owned retail and franchise stores while maintaining strong collaboration with the Domestic Development team. Key responsibilities include: • Lead international development strategy and execution across the global store pipeline, with emphasis on China's rapid growth, Europe expansion, and franchise partner markets • Build and scale the international development team across China, Europe, and partner markets, establishing clear ownership, operating rhythms, decision rights, tools, templates, and governance • Serve as functional lead for international store design management, partnering with Design, Brand Experience, architects, consultants, regional teams, franchisees, and joint venture partners • Partner with Domestic Development through dotted-line relationships to reinforce shared standards, prototype learnings, cost engineering, vendor knowledge, and operational best practices • Oversee the complete store development lifecycle: feasibility review, site due diligence, project planning, landlord coordination, design development, permitting, construction, turnover, and post-opening assessment • Manage multiple concurrent international projects across markets and phases, maintaining schedules, milestone tracking, risk registers, budget visibility, and executive reporting • Support hiring, onboarding, and operating models for dedicated international resources, including China-based Construction PM and Design Manager, and HQ-based design resources for Europe and partner markets • Develop scalable international development playbooks, approval frameworks, reporting routines, construction standards, and closeout practices to improve speed, consistency, cost control, and accountability • Travel internationally and domestically as needed for market planning, site due diligence, project execution, team onboarding, and partner alignment Vuori is a high-growth consumer lifestyle brand with a coastal California aesthetic, operating in a fast-paced retail environment focused on personal growth and opportunity. QUALIFICATIONS: • 12+ years of progressive experience in retail development, store planning, design management, construction, or related functions, ideally with multi-market or international exposure • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Real Estate Development, Business, or related field (or equivalent years of experience) • Demonstrated ability to build or scale a development function, establish governance, clarify ownership, and lead teams through gradual responsibility transitions • Strong knowledge of retail construction processes, architectural documentation, scheduling, cost management, permitting, procurement, landlord coordination, and closeout • Experience supporting fast-moving international markets with shorter lease cycles, compressed timelines, complex stakeholder environments, and time zone differences • Ability to translate global brand standards into locally executable store environments while balancing design integrity, operational needs, cost, timing, partner capabilities, and local codes • Experience partnering with franchisees, distributors, joint venture partners, regional operators, and cross-functional internal teams • Excellent executive communication, project leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills • Highly collaborative leadership style with proven ability to prevent silos, share learnings, and build trust across teams • Retail, apparel, fitness, hospitality, or consumer lifestyle brand experience strongly preferred • Ability to operate effectively from HQ while building dedicated regional support, particularly in China • Strong understanding of HQ-to-market operating models and ability to support evolving org design with dotted-line and dual-reporting relationships • Entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented mindset with ability to build scalable processes in high-growth international business
