Postscript is an AI messaging platform serving 20,000+ Shopify brands with SMS and email marketing capabilities. As Director of Email Deliverability, you will build and lead Postscript's email deliverability function from the ground up, owning strategy, infrastructure, and sender reputation to ensure customer messages reach the primary inbox.
Key responsibilities include designing end-to-end deliverability strategy covering IP pool architecture, domain strategy, and shared vs. dedicated sending models. You'll establish and enforce authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI) across customer domains, monitor sender reputation and inbox placement, and lead rapid remediation when issues arise. You'll stay ahead of evolving mailbox-provider requirements from Gmail, Yahoo, and Microsoft, including bulk-sender rules and spam-rate thresholds.
You'll serve as the senior deliverability expert for Postscript's brands, auditing programs, diagnosing inbox-placement issues, and building remediation plans. You'll lead deliverability onboarding for brands migrating email to Postscript and translate complex concepts into actionable guidance for marketers. You'll own escalations and partner with customers to protect and grow their inbox placement.
Cross-functionally, you'll partner with Product and Engineering to build deliverability tooling, monitoring, and infrastructure while influencing the roadmap with deliverability requirements. You'll build playbooks, processes, and standards that scale across thousands of senders, establish feedback loops and Postmaster Tools integration, and create reporting for visibility into deliverability health. As the function matures, you'll hire, mentor, and lead a team of deliverability specialists.
You'll maintain expert-level knowledge of the deliverability landscape, represent Postscript in the broader community (M3AAWG, emailgeeks), and build relationships with mailbox providers. You'll ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and mailbox-provider policies, and leverage AI tools to scale monitoring and diagnostics.
