Scopely is seeking a Director of Cloud Governance to lead the establishment and enforcement of cloud standards, policies, and guardrails across a multi-cloud environment spanning AWS and GCP. This is a foundational leadership role building governance from the ground up in a decentralized organization. You will build and lead a Cloud Governance team, defining the operating model for how governance partners with game teams, security, and FinOps. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing enforceable controls across AWS (Organizations, Service Control Policies) and GCP (Organization Policies, IAM constraints), establishing guardrails around resource provisioning, region restrictions, data residency, identity and access management, and network architecture. You will standardize cloud structure by defining AWS account hierarchies and GCP project/folder organization, environment segmentation standards, and naming conventions. You'll own tagging and governance standards in partnership with FinOps to ensure all resources are attributable and enable cost allocation and operational visibility. A critical aspect of this role is driving stakeholder alignment across FinOps, Security, and autonomous game teams to safely roll out policies and drive adoption. You will also define and execute an AI-native vision for cloud governance, establishing the organization's strategy for governance autonomy, architecting agentic governance capabilities that continuously monitor environments and autonomously remediate anomalies, and embedding responsible AI governance into cloud platforms. Required: 10+ years in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE; 3–5+ years leading teams in complex, multi-team environments; proven track record implementing cloud governance at scale; experience managing $50M+ cloud spend. Deep hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), policy-as-code tooling (OPA, Sentinel, AWS Config), and strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, and multi-account design.
