Salary: USD 265,000 - 295,000 / annual

Anthropic's Policy Campaigns team is hiring a Digital Campaigns Strategist to develop and execute paid media campaign strategy, manage external agencies, and measure the success of advocacy campaigns in the US and priority international markets. This is a strategy-focused role reporting to the Head of Public Policy Campaigns. You will decide campaign objectives, target audiences, messaging, and tactics to move policymakers and opinion formers. You'll direct creative and media-buying agencies, coordinate across Policy, Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs, and Legal teams, and manage multiple concurrent campaigns across time zones and geographies. Key responsibilities include: - Design paid and digital campaign strategies for legislative and policy goals, including objectives, audiences, messaging, tactics, phasing, and budget - Develop campaign messaging and tactics with internal teams and executives, ensuring paid media carries core messages - Identify potential conflicts with other company priorities and resolve tensions before launch - Direct creative and media-buying agencies: set strategy, briefs, scopes, budgets, timelines, and quality standards - Manage multiple campaigns simultaneously across time zones and agencies, owning timelines, workplans, budgets, and status reporting - Build rapid response capabilities to react to news hooks or legislative moments within days - Set success measures before launch, report results transparently, and adjust strategy based on performance - Work cross-functionally to identify stories, validators, and moments that make policy arguments concrete for decision-makers Anthropnic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco, focused on creating reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The company operates a hybrid model with expectations that staff be in office at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications: - Experience running digital content and paid media for a corporate affairs team, political campaign, advocacy organization, public affairs firm, or issue campaign, including owning a media budget - Experience managing creative and media-buying agencies, including briefs, scopes, budgets, and performance reviews - Experience running campaigns aimed at policymakers, key opinion formers, or other influential audiences - Experience managing several campaigns or projects simultaneously with multiple agencies and stakeholders in different time zones - Experience building campaign reporting in spreadsheets or dashboards - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience - Field of study relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Preferred qualifications: - Experience on state or federal legislative campaigns - Experience running campaigns inside a large organization or coalition with competing priorities - Working knowledge of AI safety and technology policy issues - Experience running campaigns in markets outside the US - Hands-on familiarity with ad platforms and targeting (Meta, LinkedIn, programmatic buying)
