As a Detection Engineer in the APAC region, you'll be a core member of the security operations team, responsible for building and maintaining detection and incident response capabilities. This role focuses on security detection engineering, incident response, and automation to scale security efforts across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, tuning, and maintaining security detection rules and alerts
- Triaging security alerts, conducting investigations, and leading response efforts
- Managing SIEM infrastructure using Google SecOps (Chronicle), including data onboarding, parsing, rule creation, and dashboarding
- Monitoring security across JAMF MDM (macOS), Google Workspace, Okta, and SaaS applications
- Implementing cloud security monitoring in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Security Command Center
- Automating detection and response tasks through scripting (Python, Bash)
- Translating threat intelligence and attack techniques into actionable detections
- Applying security frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and NIST Cybersecurity Framework
Required qualifications:
- Proven incident response and security operations experience
- Strong detection engineering background with hands-on SIEM work
- Specific expertise with Google SecOps (Chronicle)
- Experience with endpoint management (JAMF), identity platforms (Okta), and cloud security
- Solid scripting abilities for automation and tooling integration
- Deep understanding of attack techniques and threat intelligence
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
