Salary: USD 150,000 - 275,000 / annual
Imbue is building open-source AI agent tools that prioritize human agency and data ownership. Their initial products include Sculptor (a parallel coding agent interface), mngr (agent CLI tool), Vet (AI code review), Offload (distributed test runner), Latchkey (API integration), and Darwinian Evolver (universal optimizer).
As Design Technologist, you will own the product user experience end-to-end at an early stage, with significant strategic influence. You'll shape the company's design culture and product direction while working with a close-knit technical team focused on human-centered AI.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with engineers to design and ship high-quality product improvements
- Conduct user research and synthesize insights
- Build prototypes exploring new and creative user interfaces
- Deliver clear storytelling around product needs and opportunities
- Contribute to overall strategy and product direction decisions
- Create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals
- Work with product team to iterate on feature ideas quickly
- Build and refine design system and component library for cohesive product experience

- Strong designer with high standards for craft
- Ability to break down complex problems and design simple, user-focused solutions
- Energized by understanding customer needs
- Strategic thinker with strong product sense and 0-1 building experience
- Ability to iterate quickly on high and low-fidelity mockups
- Ability to work independently without explicit direction
