Figma is seeking an experienced Design Program Manager to serve as the operational backbone of the new Context Platform pillar. This senior individual contributor role focuses on design program management for initiatives that help teams leverage organizational design context—including design systems, content, and design-to-code relationships—as AI reshapes product design workflows.
You will own end-to-end program management for Context Platform, including planning, prioritization, coordination, risk management, and cross-functional communication. Working as a right-hand partner to the pillar's Senior Design Director, you'll collaborate with design managers, individual contributors, technical program managers, and cross-functional leaders across interconnected teams.
Key responsibilities include: defining the operating model for the new pillar (design critiques, reviews, decision-making rhythms); orchestrating cross-pillar collaboration to ensure dependencies surface early and work is clearly owned; designing and scaling frameworks that enable easier cross-team designer collaboration; contributing to internal AI enablement for designers through tooling and workflows; identifying opportunities to streamline or automate operational overhead; and communicating progress, risks, and tradeoffs to leadership and executives.
This role requires high agency and comfort building in ambiguity—standing up processes quickly, validating what works, and iterating. The position is full-time and can be held from Figma's US hubs (San Francisco or New York) or remotely within the United States.
Required qualifications: 5+ years in Design Program Management, DesignOps, or related discipline; track record leading complex, fast-moving programs across design, product, and engineering; deep understanding of design systems and how to support designers' craft; experience with AI-powered products or internal AI enablement; technical curiosity and ability to partner fluently with engineering and design engineers.
Preferred: hands-on experience with automation, scripting, or AI orchestration tools; prior experience as a product designer or in design-adjacent roles.
