Zscaler is seeking a Deputy Manager for Procurement to join its Bangalore office on a hybrid basis, reporting to the Senior Manager of Procurement. This role focuses on executing global procurement strategy for cloud infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, colocation, and bandwidth services.
Key responsibilities include partnering with Cloud Operations and Engineering teams to understand procurement needs, establishing approved supplier lists, and conducting market research to benchmark suppliers against performance metrics. You will oversee competitive bidding processes, collaborate with Legal on vendor contracts, ensure local sourcing aligns with global policies, and address supplier performance issues. The role requires proactive communication with end-users about risks and external factors affecting their requirements.
The ideal candidate brings 6-8 years of hands-on experience in IT and cloud infrastructure procurement with demonstrated strategic and tactical domain knowledge. You should have experience managing IT infrastructure, colocation, and bandwidth requirements for cloud environments, with strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. A foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging AI-driven solutions to optimize procurement outcomes is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Cloud Operations, IaaS, and PaaS; strong relationships with ISPs and colocation providers; excellent interpersonal skills; and the ability to influence across organizational levels. This is an execution-focused role requiring data-driven decision-making, ownership mentality, and the ability to navigate between strategic planning and hands-on execution in a high-growth technology environment.
