The Demo Environment Operations Manager is a hybrid leadership role that balances people management with hands-on technical contribution. You will lead a team of Demo Engineers, oversee day-to-day operations, and drive large-scale event delivery initiatives while working directly alongside your team to build, troubleshoot, and maintain demonstration environments for global sales and marketing efforts.
Key responsibilities include directly managing, mentoring, and evaluating Demo Engineers while fostering a supportive team environment. You will monitor team bandwidth, assign incoming work, and ensure engineers have the tools, guidance, and support needed to succeed. You'll develop and refine best practices, standards, and guidelines for demo environment creation, maintenance, and scenarios. The role requires leading cross-functional delivery teams for corporate events, product launches, and software releases, while balancing strategic project delivery with hands-on engineering duties.
You'll work with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), API integrations, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern web stacks. Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or JavaScript is essential for environment setup and automated testing. Strong composure and organizational skills are critical when juggling competing priorities during crunch periods around key events. You'll communicate effectively with both technical and executive stakeholders, and dedicate yourself to empowering team members and supporting their career progression.
