ServiceNow is seeking a Demo Developer & Lead to own the IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) demo portfolio. This is a hands-on builder role combined with strategic ownership of demo narratives across keynotes, analyst events, launch videos, and field enablement.
You will be both storyteller and developer: partner with product marketing and product management to craft the narrative, then build and maintain the demo environment on the ServiceNow platform. Your responsibilities include:
• Own the end-to-end ITSM and ITOM demo portfolio, including keynote demos, event spotlights, launch demos, executive briefing center (EBC) content, and field-ready derivatives.
• Build hands-on demo scenarios covering Now Assist / AI Agents for IT, Service Operations Workspace, ITSM Pro capabilities, Discovery and Service Mapping, Event Management and AIOps, CMDB, Cloud Cost / Cloud Management, Workflow Data Fabric, and integrations.
• Translate product positioning and release themes into demo scripts, click paths, environments, personas, and seeded data. Write talk tracks and demo guides.
• Maintain demo instances, data, and integrations to ensure stability and release currency. Own instance setup, cloning, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance for reliable keynote-stage delivery.
• Serve as the go-to expert for ITSM/ITOM demo requests across Marketing, Events, Analyst Relations, and Sales enablement. Scope requests, set expectations, and manage scope.
• Partner directly with Product Management and engineering on pre-release features, providing early feedback on new capabilities from a demo-builder perspective.
• Collaborate with designers and video producers on UI polish, motion, and recorded demo versions. Present demos live when needed and coach other presenters.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Claude Code, MCP) to accelerate build cycles. Contribute to shared demo frameworks, reusable components, and team documentation.
Success metrics: By 90 days, own the full ITSM/ITOM demo inventory with stable, release-current environments and first event demo shipped. By 6 months, deliver repeatable keynote-grade stories per release with field-ready derivatives. By 12 months, be recognized as the go-to IT demo expert with frameworks and documentation enabling others to build on your work independently.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development with deep knowledge of ITSM and ITOM product families and real-world customer usage patterns.
• Strong scripting expertise: Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, UI Builder / Workspaces, Service Portal, REST integrations, Transform Maps, scoped app development, and update set / instance management.
• Experience building or supporting demo environments, sandboxes, or lab instances, including provisioning, cloning, and data seeding at scale.
• Ability to write compelling stories and translate marketing messages into persona-driven narratives for non-technical audiences.
• Strong communication skills with product, marketing, and executive stakeholders; comfortable presenting demos live and handling questions.
• Self-directed work style: manage your own backlog, sequence work across concurrent events, and flag risks early.
NICE TO HAVE:
• Experience with Now Assist, AI Agents, or AI Control Tower demos, and Now Assist Skill Kit or agentic workflow configuration.
• ITOM depth in Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management / AIOps, or Cloud Cost Management; familiarity with common monitoring and cloud tooling.
• Front-end skills (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React or AngularJS) for mockups, custom widgets, and demo polish.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development workflows (Claude Code, MCP servers, structured handoffs).
• ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, CIS-ITSM, CIS-Discovery / Event Management) or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience on demo, solution consulting, or product marketing teams.
