Tenstorrent is seeking a Datacenter Liquid Cooling Architect to define, design, and architect next-generation liquid cooling infrastructure for large-scale AI training and inference clusters. You will partner with systems engineering, mechanical engineering, software, and cross-functional design teams to develop chassis-, rack-, and cluster-scale cooling solutions. Key responsibilities include CDU integration, telemetry and control system design, leak detection strategy, and resilient operating procedures. You will help shape reliable AI datacenter architectures and deployments for both internal and external customers, establishing safe operating rules, telemetry requirements, and failure-response strategies for mission-critical cooling systems.
The role offers hands-on exposure to architecting next-generation liquid cooling infrastructure at multiple scales, deeper understanding of commercial coolant distribution unit integration and monitoring within high-performance AI datacenters, and the opportunity to influence future datacenter thermal systems through close partnership with cross-functional teams.
Position is on-site with flexibility across three locations: Toronto, Canada; Austin, Texas; or Santa Clara, California.
**Requirements:**
- 10+ years of experience architecting cooling infrastructure for complex computing environments
- Proven expertise designing chassis- and rack-scale liquid cooling solutions for large AI training and inference clusters
- Strong systems-thinking approach to mechanical, electrical, software, facility, and systems engineering integration in mission-critical datacenters
- Hands-on problem-solving experience with fluid compatibility, pressure testing, leak detection, sensor integration, and cooling-system controls
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE thermal guidelines, liquid-cooled IT environments, facility HVAC integration, and datacenter cooling best practices
- Proven experience designing and operating single-phase liquid cooling systems, including fluid selection, glycol-water mixtures, dielectric fluids, corrosion inhibitors, material compatibility, and dry-break couplings
- Expertise in pressure-testing protocols (proof testing, burst testing, leak testing) and leak detection, mitigation, filtration, and redundancy strategies
- Practical experience integrating flow, temperature, and pressure sensors with monitoring and control systems, including defining operational rules and failure-response procedures for commercial CDUs
- Experience with pumped two-phase liquid cooling is a plus
- Collaborative technical leadership with ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and with internal and external customers
