Farfetch is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Experimentation Platform team in Porto. You will own the Statistical Engine that powers experiment analysis across the organization, ensuring it delivers accurate, reliable, and timely results.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain and improve the Statistical Engine to help teams detect meaningful changes and make faster decisions
- Evolve the platform to support new statistical methods, experiment designs, and business requirements
- Enhance maintainability, scalability, and extensibility as experimentation needs grow
- Collaborate with Data Engineering to improve data availability and integration with the Data Platform
- Explore how AI and emerging technologies can improve platform development and efficiency
- Partner with Data Analysts, Engineers, and Product Managers to translate experimentation challenges into practical solutions

REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong Python skills with experience developing or maintaining applications
- Solid understanding of statistics, hypothesis testing, and A/B testing
- Experience with SQL and dataset analysis
- Familiarity with software development practices (version control, testing)
- Willingness to learn, investigate problems, and improve solutions
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
PREFERRED:
- Experience with A/B testing or experimentation platforms
- Knowledge of statistical methods such as causal inference or variance reduction
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Google Cloud, BigQuery)
- Familiarity with machine learning or AI-assisted development tools
