beehiiv is a high-growth creator platform ($30M+ ARR, 100% YoY growth) powering newsletters and independent media. The company recently expanded its product suite to include an ad network, website builder, and paid tiers.
You will join the Ad Network team as a Data Scientist, bridging product analytics and data engineering. This hybrid role combines responsibilities of a Product Data Analyst (working closely with business stakeholders and senior leadership) with ownership of the Ad Network Data Stack. You'll drive insights and data pipelines that optimize the network for both publishers and advertisers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with Product Managers and Business Leaders to define and track KPIs (CPC, CPA, CPM, etc.)
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting for campaign performance, network adoption, and advertiser impact
- Own and build out the ClickHouse data model for the ad network
- Design and implement aggregation tables supporting ML, reporting, and in-app dashboarding
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover patterns and pain points
- Translate data findings into recommendations influencing product roadmap and prioritization
- Monitor data flows for issues and anomalies
- Analyze network health to balance publisher payouts and advertiser value
- Collaborate with Engineering and Data teams on event tracking, instrumentation, and data quality
- Build a universal entity resolution system in collaboration with engineers
- Maintain and expand advertiser conversion attribution logic
- Design and build a first-party subscriber enrichment product using interaction data
- Work with ML on Brand Lift A/B test studies
You should be a strategic operator with hands-on executional chops, comfortable in ambiguous fast-paced environments, obsessed with customer outcomes, and able to develop cohesive data-driven narratives. The role involves managing multiple priorities and stakeholders, rapid iteration, and frequent context switching.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience as a highly technical Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or Data Engineer
- Excellent SQL skills and experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Mode, Metabase, or similar)
- Experience with R or Python, conducting data-driven research and statistical analysis (linear regression, k-means clustering)
- Experience with experimentation methodologies (A/B testing, multivariate testing)
- Experience with database data modeling to power reporting and analysis
- Experience with SQL ETL tools to define and materialize KPIs
- Exceptional ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Ad Tech or Marketing background
- ClickHouse or another OLAP database experience
- Experience building Entity Resolution systems or models
- Experience with Graph Databases
- Creator economy or SaaS experience
