Homebase is hiring a Data Science Manager to lead a team transforming how data and AI power product, platform, and people decisions. You'll manage a growing team of data scientists, mentor them to think like product and business owners, and partner with platform engineering to bring models from proof-of-concept to production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and grow a high-performing team of data scientists with a focus on mentorship and development
- Support end-to-end delivery of ML models powering product features (scheduling, hiring, payroll, pricing, personalization) and internal systems (sales/marketing targeting)
- Champion experimentation by designing A/B and multivariate tests to accelerate decision-making
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to embed data and AI into user experiences from day one
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to cross-functional leaders, product managers, and executive stakeholders

Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in data science, applied machine learning, or AI product development
- 2+ years in a people leadership role, mentoring and growing data scientists
- Strong background in machine learning (optimization, traditional ML, or frontier models)
- Proven track record of shipping ML models into production
- Proficient in SQL and Python
- Strong people leader with focus on growth, empathy, and impact
- Strong ability to partner cross-functionally with business and product teams
- Commitment to driving outcomes in a hybrid, AI-first environment where speed and ownership matter
- Brings curiosity, empathy, and a growth mindset to problem-solving and leadership
