Salary: CAD 140,000 - 190,000 / annual

As Data Science Manager at Xero, you will lead a small team of 3 Data Scientists within Marketing Data Science, managing people-based in Australia, the UK, and South Africa while personally owning marketing measurement for North America. You will drive campaign and event measurement, churn analysis, and funnel effectiveness work that directly shapes how marketing decisions are made across the organization. Your core responsibilities include: - Managing and coaching a geographically distributed team across multiple timezones, establishing operating rhythms and shared documentation practices that keep delivery sustainable and connected - Personally owning North America marketing measurement, including campaign and event measurement, churn analysis, and funnel effectiveness - Embedding AI-driven insight generation and agentic analytics into the team's daily delivery, reducing time to insight and shifting focus from report assembly to strategic questions - Working across SQL, Python, BigQuery, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and GTM platforms to build dashboards and visualizations that drive real decisions - Translating complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders - Partnering closely with regional marketing teams as a thinking partner rather than a reporting service The role is based in Vancouver with a hybrid working model. Xero operates with flexible arrangements and weekly "Boost Days" for in-office collaboration. You will work within a wider Marketing Data Science team spread across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, South Africa, and North America, requiring comfort with async communication and distributed team dynamics. Requirements: - Practical marketing measurement experience across campaigns, events, churn analysis, and funnel effectiveness - Working knowledge of SQL and solid Python proficiency - Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, and causal thinking - Familiarity with Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and BigQuery - Experience coaching and managing people, particularly across timezones - Ability to communicate flexibly between technical and non-technical audiences - Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to shape team priorities independently - Experience with AI-driven and agentic analytics is valued
