FlixBus is seeking a Data Protection Officer to join its Compliance and Data Protection team in Munich. This role is central to the company's data governance strategy, supporting all internal departments in navigating data protection law while enabling responsible data use across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise internal departments on all data protection law matters
- Review and assess complex data protection issues and scenarios
- Collaborate closely with the Group Data Protection Officer and their team
- Communicate GDPR requirements across the organization and support business units in compliance implementation
- Design and deliver data protection training programs
- Balance regulatory compliance with business growth objectives, finding pragmatic solutions that protect data while enabling innovation
The role requires deep expertise in GDPR and German data protection regulations, with a focus on translating complex legal requirements into actionable guidance for non-legal teams. You will be a trusted advisor helping the organization scale responsibly.
FlixBus operates a hybrid model with flexibility to work up to 60 days per year from alternative locations. The company emphasizes a collaborative, international environment where your contributions directly shape how the organization approaches data governance.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in data protection consulting
- Diploma or full law degree (Volljurist/in) in law, business law (Wirtschaftsjurist/in), business informatics (Wirtschaftsinformatiker/in), or comparable qualification
- Strong affinity for information technology
- Ability to explain complex matters clearly and develop compliant, pragmatic solutions
- Fluent in German and English; additional languages a plus
- Note: Bar admission as in-house counsel (Syndikusrechtsanwält/in) is not possible for this role
