Skydropx is innovating logistics across Latin America, building a team of visionary professionals committed to growth and impact. We're seeking a Data Engineer to join our dynamic, ambitious, and multicultural environment.
You will be responsible for collecting data from diverse sources including databases, CSV files, and APIs using ETL tools for cleaning and preprocessing. You'll perform data transformation tasks such as removing duplicates, normalizing formats (dates, phone numbers, case), validating data, handling nulls, mapping fields, and enriching datasets for efficient analysis.
Key responsibilities include designing and building efficient data pipelines using tools like Matillion and SQLMesh to automate ETL processes. You'll integrate and consume external APIs to enrich datasets and improve data quality. You'll contribute to designing efficient architectures for handling large data volumes using technologies like BigQuery, Python, and SQL.
You'll work in a 100% remote environment with core hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM CST (Mexico time), with schedule flexibility during new releases. REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Strong programming experience, especially in Python; ability to write efficient code and solve complex problems; deep knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, Polars; advanced SQL proficiency
- Experience manipulating large-scale data and optimizing queries in SQL databases and BigQuery
- Demonstrated experience with ETL tools (Matillion, SQLMesh) for building and managing ETL workflows
- Proven database management experience including SQL query optimization
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
- Understanding of data warehouse, data lake, and data vault concepts; BigQuery experience
- Experience with observability tools
- Familiarity with Airflow and Git
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Capacity to prioritize tasks by impact and urgency in dynamic environments
- Skill in managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines
