Addi is a leading fintech platform in Colombia serving 3.6M+ customers and 55K+ merchants, offering Buy Now, Pay Later, banking solutions (deposits, payments, unsecured credit), and commerce services. The company recently achieved profitability and secured regulatory approval to operate as a bank, backed by top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Goldman Sachs, and Union Square Ventures. You will own and evolve Addi's core data ingestion and transformation platform, serving as the technical engine that reduces friction and ensures absolute data integrity for critical functions like Risk, Lending, and Finance to make real-time financial decisions. Key responsibilities: - Own end-to-end design, deployment, and operational monitoring of mission-critical data pipelines with high availability and strict SLO/SLI performance - Drive migration to a unified ingestion framework with standardized CDC patterns, schema evolution, and automated data quality checks across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers - Design monitoring dashboards, alerting systems, and runbooks enabling engineering teams to diagnose and resolve data incidents independently - Enforce enterprise-wide data governance, RBAC, and data classification for security, auditability, and compliance - Create standard pipeline templates, CI/CD automated checks, and local testing utilities to accelerate release cycles - Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Analytics, Finance, and Operations to translate business needs into robust datasets - Continuously optimize pipeline efficiency, automate manual processes, and introduce industry best practices Requirements: - 4+ years of Data Engineering experience building and operating production-grade data pipelines, ideally in high-growth startups or fintech - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field - Demonstrated ability to design pragmatic systems with clear trade-offs, documented via Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) - End-to-end ownership experience: pipelines from concept and design through deployment, live monitoring, and post-production iteration - Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake across batch and streaming architectures - Solid experience with Airflow (or similar tools) for scheduling, backfills, retries, and managing SLAs/SLOs - Deep familiarity with Medallion architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and incremental processing techniques (CDC, merge patterns) - High standards for clean code, testing, CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, and Git workflows (PRs, code reviews) - Expertise implementing proactive data quality checks, data contracts, and anomaly detection - Proven ability to build monitoring dashboards, alerting frameworks, and runbooks that reduce MTTR - Hands-on experience with fine-grained access control (e.g., Unity Catalog), PII classification, DLP, and auditability - Ability to translate complex infrastructure decisions into business impact for stakeholders in Risk, Finance, Product, and Operations
